Dear Youth Ambassadors,

Last year I was on the basketball team. I played really well. I was one of the best on the team. When the season was over I kind of got side tracked with girls and stuff. I lost my dedication. Over the summer I didn’t put any work in. So this year when I tried out, I didn’t make it. I’ve been lazy ever since. What do I do now? How do I get my dedication back? Please help!

Sincerely,

Out of Shape

Dear Out of Shape,

If you want your dedication back – WORK! Make basketball your main priority. You’ll still have time for the other stuff, but don’t let it get in the way of your dream. Whatever has you side tracked won’t benefit you or make you any money, so focus on your goals before anything else.

Sincerely,
Your Friend

Dear Out of Shape,

I would say if you love the sport a lot try to refocus on it. You can accomplish that by focusing on what made you enjoy this sport a lot. With the girl situation, try to find a girl who understands how much basketball means to you. My sport means a lot to me, and if the person I want to be with doesn’t understand that, then maybe he isn’t worth my time. Always remember that it’s not wrong to put yourself first sometimes. If you don’t put yourself first no one will, and they will assume basketball is just a joke to you. Show them that you’re serious and the rest should fall in place. Hope you work through. Really hope this advice helps you.

Sincerely,
A Fellow Ambassador
