Dear Youth Ambassadors,
How do people choose what they’re going to do with their lives at such an early age? I’m so scared that I’m going to hate what I major in and that I’ll just be a miserable mess forever. I want to genuinely love my life after college and this makes me so nervous, I guess. I’m just so confused and scared of what the future holds. How do I handle the pressure of finding the right career?
I’ve been through the same thing you’re going through. When I was a junior, I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. It left this burning hole in my head until I finally decided what was best for me. My advice to you is, in order to find a career that you’ll love, find something that you are passionate about. Find something that you already love to do and something that nobody can change your mind about. The thing that you really believe in can become a career for you. Don’t waste your talents. Turn them into dreams and make your lifetime something that you can be proud of. Start with a set of goals on a checklist and mark them off over time. It’s never too late. Nothing is impossible, and believe in yourself!
Find your Passion
It’s alright that you don’t know what you wanna be in life yet, because not everybody knows their passion because they haven’t found it yet. Just don’t look too far out into the future and get unfocused, because if you do that, you may mess with what’s in front of you.
People choose what they want to do with their lives at an early age by setting goals and planning ahead for their future. Just plan, set goals and work on achieving them and maybe you won’t be a “miserable mess.” I say that because if you plan ahead of time, then everything should turn out how you planned. Then again, sometimes things don’t always go as planned. So that’s when you have to come up with a “Plan B” so that way if your “Plan A” doesn’t turn out right, you always got your “Plan B.”
