Dear Youth Ambassadors,

I’m kind of getting overwhelmed with everything school related. I want to become a doctor, but that’s a really high goal. I try so hard to get good grades, but I’m not so great. I get stressed really easily and when I don’t know something, I just want to give up. What should I do to motivate me to keep going?

Sincerely,

I Want to be a Doctor

Dear I Want to be a Doctor,

I understand how hard it is to want to achieve something that may seem quite impossible. In my experience, all I worried about is, “what if I don’t make it?” But, you have to be the driving force of your future. If you really want to become a doctor, then keep your eyes on that. Don’t give up! Life is hard and as we go on, it’ll only get tougher. Nevertheless, if you believe in yourself, regardless of the grades you get and if you truly want to become a doctor, then you have to know that it’s possible. Write notes to yourself that say, “I will become a doctor.” Place that note in your phone or on the mirror that you look at everyday. Also, take a self note. Look into yourself and say, “No matter what, I will accomplish my dreams.” Finally, surround yourself with people who’ll go somewhere and will motivate you to go somewhere.

Sincerely,
Follow your Dreams!

Dear I Want to be a Doctor,

I feel and get what you are saying. I am a senior this year and it’s very stressful. I have fees after fees. School acts like I’m made out of money. I still have classes to worry about and pass. The way you can get good grades is if you stay to yourself, stay out of trouble, and focus only on school. I’m not so great either, but that doesn’t stop me from reaching my goal. Don’t give up. Don’t try so hard to be perfect. We all make mistakes and we’ll always fail before we succeed. You should stay calm and try your best. Don’t try so hard to be perfect.

Sincerely,
Another YA

Dear I Want to be a Doctor,

What you should do to motivate you is believe that you can do it. Don’t think too hard so you won’t be overwhelmed. When you have a lot on your mind, your thoughts will start to get jumbled up. A time I felt overwhelmed is last week. A way I motived myself to keep going is when I believed in myself. I told myself that I can do it and it worked. I boost my own self esteem up so that I can actually believe I can do it.

Sincerely,
Believe in Yourself
