Dear Youth Ambassadors,

I’m just another one of your kids with a common fear: the fear of not being able to accomplish my dreams. It seems when I take one big step toward my accomplishments, I get set back 1,000 more with grades, family, friends, and time. I fear I won’t make it out of these streets. Any advice?

Sincerely,

Common Fear

Dear Common Fear,

I can relate. Doing good in school is important. You should stop worrying about the streets. Just focus on you and how you are doing. Family is important. Maybe you could talk to them about how you feel. If you’re not close to them, try to talk to a friend. Try to find some hobbies, make good choices, and focus on ways to better yourself.

Sincerely,

Someone Who Cares

Dear Common Fear,

My advice to you is to set a S.M.A.R.T. goal. A “S.M.A.R.T.” goal is Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-oriented.

Sincerely,

SMART
